I have been teaching for 30 years now, across a range of different schools in different socio-economic areas across Adelaide, predominantly in Catholic Education schools. In that time, I have undertaken a variety of different leadership roles over the past 25 years and am currently Director of Teacher Development at St Columba College. This role involves working with all teachers, R – 12 (approximately 130) in a range of different ways – career development, leadership development, moving to proficiency, working towards HA/LT certification, professional review process, and supporting the nearly one third of teachers who are in the first five years of their teaching career……to name some of the work I undertake and coordinate.
