My name is Elizabeth Trasente and I am in the process of completing my application for Highly Accomplished Teacher. I have been teaching at Rostrevor College for 19 years in the areas of Italian and English. I am passionate about languages and have led many initiatives in this area, hoping to instil my passion of Italian to my students and colleagues. My strengths lie in curriculum design and change, where I utilise contemporary pedagogies such as Content and Language Integrated Learning to take my students on a learning journey that is current and relevant. I believe in setting the highest expectations for my students and ensuring all students feel included and successful. I enjoy extending my learning and was so keen to gain my certification to be affirmed in my role. I believe the accreditation process is crucial in allowing educators to reflect on their teaching practice and be valued for their contribution to their school communities. I am excited to be a committee member of the SA HALT Network for the first time and am keen to mentor others in gaining their certification, as well as being a voice for educators in the Catholic sector.
