After my Lead certification in 2017, I won the Assistant Principal 7-12 role at Roxby Downs Area School where I collaborated with ECTs and Pre-Service teachers supporting them with collecting their evidence for their portfolios and deep diving into the APST.  Continuing with our culture of conducting classroom observations aligned to the CPC and building teacher capacity was a key component of my work.  I have attended every HALT summit since being certified, an opportunity to network with HALTs from across the nation and keep up to date with the latest research and evidence about the impact that HALTs have on colleagues and students is very affirming.

Having expert knowledge of the APST and a deep understanding of the certification process has given me the opportunity to share my knowledge with aspiring applicants, Principals, teachers, Assessors and the wider Education community including AITSL and the SATCC committee.  Being able to influence in this space has system wide benefits to ensure our teachers, students and school communities are the beneficiaries of the certification process.

I am using my knowledge of the APST with my NTC team as we have re-designed the process of our Intensives that we have implemented to further support teachers and their leaders through the certification process.  Working in Orbis has allowed us our to share our certification journeys and have wider impact on teachers by running Intensives and providing applicants’ with formative feedback throughout their certification journey.

As educators, holding a mirror up to our practice is very affirming  - to be recognised and promote quality teaching, leading from the classroom and providing opportunities for teachers to reflect on their practice recognises those teachers who are highly effective in improving student outcomes.

I have lived and worked in the country all of my life and have a passion for people-focused leadership and the co-creation of tasks with learners to ensure growth and achievement for all. 

I love spending time with my family, extended family and friends, all things sport and of course retail therapy!!
