My name is Belinda Daniel and I became certified as a Highly Accomplished Teacher at the start of 2022. I have been a teacher at Westminster Preparatory School for the past 25 years and feel extremely fortunate to belong to a School community that values and supports this accreditation, with clear strategic paths forward that tap into the skills of the growing number of HALT on our staff. The process of reflecting upon the Professional Standards for Teachers has continued to be inherent in my practice since gaining accreditation and I am enjoying working with aspiring HALT to examine their impact in each field. I am excited by the opportunities that have arisen since being certified, which have included presenting Aspiring HALT Writer Workshops and ShareSpace sessions at the annual SA HALT Network conferences, undertaking Acting Deputy of Westminster Preparatory School for a term, and being asked to be a part of the AERO reference group for developing nationwide resources for teachers of all stages of their careers. I am delighted to be a member of the SA HALT Network committee and enjoy working amongst this network of inspiring educators.
