More about Afroza

Having traveled through many countries and experienced diverse educational systems, I was deeply inspired by the various approaches to learning and teaching I encountered. These experiences sparked my passion for education and led me to pursue a career in teaching. As a Senior School English and EAL teacher at Iqra College, I am committed to creating engaging and meaningful learning environments that empower students to thrive in the 21st century. In 2023, I was honored to be recognized by The Advertiser as one of Australia’s best teachers, a testament to my dedication to innovative education.

In my role as Senior School Coordinator at Iqra College, I lead initiatives aimed at improving teaching quality and fostering professional growth among staff. I have successfully mentored educators at all stages of their careers, from preservice teachers to experienced professionals, helping them refine their skills and achieve their goals. I have also built partnerships with other schools to enhance learning opportunities and create collaborative networks that benefit both students and staff.

As an aspiring Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher, I am eager to bring my expertise in mentoring, leadership, and educational innovation to the SA HALT Network. My ability to guide teachers through their professional journeys, combined with my focus on building meaningful connections within and beyond the school, will support the Network’s mission of driving excellence in teaching. I am excited to collaborate with a dynamic group of passionate educators, working together to create a lasting impact on the profession and the students we serve.
