SA HALT Network
How we started
Lead Teachers of South Australia (LTASA) had previously been running for several years but had been dormant since the start of the Covid pandemic. As part of the 2022 HALT Summit in Adelaide, HALTs ran a session which was the start of HALTs taking on a more active role to support colleagues in their state.
Highly Accomplished teacher Rebecca Hepworth had previously set up a Facebook page for SA HALTs. In 2022 Lead teacher Angela Phillips took over the Facebook page prior to the HALT Summit and in collaboration with Lead Teacher Elizabeth Gary-Smith surveyed HALTs to discover their needs.
This resulted in a rebrand and new direction for the Network, including activities such as:
•posting relevant articles of interest to the Facebook group
•running online sessions for aspiring HALTs
•sharing links to relevant networking events
•hosting the Network’s first ever conference, which was led by HALTs in 2022
•LTASA rebranded as the SA HALT Network and a new committee was formed
•the SA HALT Network hosting networking events.
As you can see out network has just grown from there.
